HR, Orgn strategy linkage stressed

Hyderabad, June 26 (UNI) CII Southern Region Chairman and Infotech Enterprises Ltd CMD B V R Mohan Reddy today said called for effective linkage between human resources and organisational strategy.

Addressing the fifth edition of ''HR Conclave-Value Creation through HR,'' organised by the Andhra Pradesh Chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), here, he said engaging workforce,developing leadership and managing talent were the key factors in proactive value creation eventually leading to developing sustainable intellectual capital.

Knowledge about regulations and understanding about global culture were very important to operate successfully in this globalisation era, he added in a press release here.

Infosys Technologies Ltd Managing Director and CEO S Gopalkrishnan stressed on the need for comprehensive education programme to develop leadership though strong industry institute linkages.

Decreasing hierarchy by using technology would help motivate young talent whose retention is important to gain competitive edge, he pointed out.

In his welcome address, CII-AP Chairman Utpal Sen Gupta said 1970's and 80's belonged to the license system and the companies which had licenses flourished.

But the present era belonged to the innovation and the ability to retain the qualified manpower.

Infotech Enterprises Ltd President (Global HR&Corporate Affairs) Ashok Reddy said businesses were in the midst of tackling multidimensional challenges and human resources provide a competitive edge over others.

Value through HR can be created by workforce planning, talent management, global mobility and governance.
