Governor condoles Banatwala's demise

Mumbai, Jun 26 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir has mourned the demise of IUML President and senior Parliamentarian G M Banatwala.

In a message to Mr Banatwala's brother, the Governor recalled his association with the veteran leader and said he had worked with him closely and his death was a personal loss to him.

A highly respected and versatile parliamentarian, his knowledge of parliamentary history, law and practice was marvellous, the Governor said adding that he had taken great interest in every important issue of national and international concern. The country has lost a nationalist leader and a strong voice of the minorities, he added.
