Gilani to represent Pakistan at D-8 summit

Islamabad, Jun 26 (UNI) Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani will attend the D-8 (Developing-8) Summit being held in Malaysia during July 4-8.

''The theme of the sixth Summit is 'Meeting Challenges through Innovative Cooperation','' Foreign Office Spokesman Muhammad Sadiq said at a press briefing here today.

The D-8 was formed as an economic development alliance consisting of Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey.

The spokesman said Pakistan had also accepted an invitation for Mr Gilani to visit the US and the dates were being finalised.
