Raid's on govt official's office, house yield Rs 1.34 cr

Hyderabad, June 24 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested a Superintendent Engineer in the Irrigation Department in Chittoor District and unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs 1.34 crore during simultaneous raids on his office and residence.

The ACB conducted simultaneous raid on Pusala Srinivasa Kashinath's office and residence at Madanepally in Tirupati.

His daughter's house at Hyderabad was also raided, an ACB press release here said.

The assets include two houses at Tirupathi worth over Rs 1 crore, gold ornaments (Rs 6.76 lakh), Santro car (Rs 4 lakh),Ambassador car (Rs 3 lakh), cash (Rs 1.80 lakh), bank balance (Rs 21.66 lakh), investments in chits and debentures and money lending (Rs 11.02 lakh).

More details of bank balances were awaited and the inventory of household articles was yet to be carried out.

The accused will be produced before Special Judge for SPE and ACB in Nellore.
