Multipurpose school beat DMW Patiala in Challenge Cup

Patiala, June 24 (UNI) In the first Multipurpose Cricket Challenge Cup (Under-16), played here today at the Multipurpose Senior Secondary School ground, Multipurpose School defeated DMW, Patiala, by a huge margin of 104 runs.

Batting first, Multipurpose School piled up 147 runs, losing five wickets, in 20 overs (the 35-over match was reduced to 20 overs due to heavy rain). S Sharma scored a fluent half century (56), while Vikram Lathar scored 45 to step up the score.

For DMW, Bhupinder captured two wickets, conceding 18 runs.

In reply, DMW were skittled out for a paltry 43 runs in just 12 overs. But for Amandeep (17 runs), no DMW batsman reached the double figure. Sandeep bowled penetratingly to bag 6 wickets, giving away only 8 runs.
