Immigration authorities detain one with tampered passport
Kolkata, Jun 24 (UNI) Immigration authorities of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) airport today detained a passenger - Maclom Macleod(47) - a resident of Shillong, for trying to travel to Bangkok with a tampered passport.
Officials said two pages of Macleod's passport were missing, apparently torn out of the booklet.
Initially, he told the officials that his child had torn the pages, but on prolonged questioning he admitted that he himself had taken out the pages.
He told officials that the missing pages contained the details of his application for a visa to Canada.
Since his visa application was rejected, he thought that his application for visa to the USA would be a problem, if it was not found out.
