HUJI militant arrested, tragedy averted in Kashmir

Srinagar Jun 24 (UNI) Security forces arrested a militant of Harkat- Ul-Jehad-Islami (HUJI) and also averted a major tragedy in the Kashmir valley overnight, a police spokesman said today.

He said a militant of HUJI outfit, Akhtar Hussain Lone, alias Hamza was arrested by the police at Sumbal and one AK 47 rifle, one magazine, twenty rounds and one grenade seized.

The spokesman said an IED was detected and defused by the police and 5 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) on the banks of river Sindh near Wussan Bala, without causing any damage.
