SGPC president calls upon R R Patil

Mumbai, Jun 23 (UNI) Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Avatarsingh Makkad met Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil late last night with regard to the recent firing at protesters by Dera Sacha Sauda Chief's bodyguard.

Before meeting Mr Patil, he along with three other office bearers of the Committee met Manjit Singh Sapra, Congress MLA and other Sikh leaders here, an official source said. The meeting with Mr Patil lasted 30 minutes.

They discussed the recent shootout in which one person was killed and three others sustained injuries after a bodyguard of Ram Rahim Singh opened fire at a mob protesting against Ram Rahim at Nirmal Lifesytle Mall of Mulund on Friday.

Police arrested 14 people in this connection and they were remanded in police custody till Thursday.
