LS Speaker gives away meritorious awards to employees' wards
New Delhi, Jun 23 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today gave away meritorious awards, 2007, to five wards of employees of the Lok Sabha Secretariat at a function in the Parliament Library Building here.
So far, 23 students have received the awards, which were instituted in 1992 for the wards of employees of the Lower House Secretariat, who display excellence by qualifying at the national level entrance examination in medicine, engineering and computer science.
Mr Chatterjee also released a book titled ''Constitution Amendment in India,'' brought out by the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
The book enumerates all constitutional amendments till date.
Lok Sabha Secretary General PDT Achary is the editor of the seventh edition of the book.
