Haryana to award students excelling in national tests
Chandigarh, Jun 23 (UNI) The Haryana government would give an award of Rs 10,000 to every student in the state who figured in the first ten ranks in the National Level Entrance tests, such as IIT, AIEEE, MAT, CAT and GATE.
This was announced by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today.
Meanwhile, a spokesman of the Haryana State Counselling Society said the state Government had also decided that the eligibility of diploma holders and B Sc Degree holders for admission to 2nd year (3rd semester) B.E./B.Tech Programme through lateral entry would be 50 per cent marks instead of 60 per cent marks in the qualifying examination for the Session 2008-09.
