Amarinder rejects 'peace' proposals of two Congress leaders
Patiala, June 23 (UNI) Former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh today outrightly rejected the proposals of two senior Congress leaders to broker 'peace' between Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and Capt Singh.
"I rejected their proposals", he said while questioning the credentials of senior leaders Partap Singh Bajwa and Lal Singh who had agreed to act as mediators between Mrs Bhattal and Capt Singh.
"My leader is Ms Sonia Gandhi, I do not need the support of other people", he said.
While refering to his differences with the PPCC chief, the former chief minister claimed that from time to time he had updated Ms Gandhi about his differences with Mrs Bhattal and her style of functioning and his stand on various issues.
"I am ready to take on any responsibility assigned to me by Ms Gandhi", he said while pointing out that he was even ready to take on the Akalis.
