14 ethanol plants to be established in Bihar: Nitish
Patna, Jun 23 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said 14 ethanol plants would be established with an investment of Rs 17,000 crore in various places of the state.
After a meeting with a delegation of MS Gasshall Company Limited here, Mr Kumar said the state government had approved the proposals of setting up ethanol plants at 14 places, some of which are Vaishali, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Katihar, Nalanda and Gaya.
''The capacity of units for producing ethanol from Maize will be 1.20 lakh tonnes per year, while capacity of those producing ethanol from sugarcane will be 25,000 TCD,'' he said, adding about 60,000 people would get employment from these ventures.
