Tension prevails after insult of Ambedkar's statue
Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, June 22 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Gopalpur village in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh after unidentified people insulted statue of Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar last night, police said today.
About 7-8 people have been questioned by police in this regard.
Police suspected an already ongoing dispute to be behind the insult of statue.
The incident has angered Scheduled Caste people in the village who are demanding arresting the culprits.
Senior police and administrative officials heave reached the spot. Police vigil has been intensified in the village and nearby areas.
