9 killed , 20 injured in road accident

Dhaka, Jun 22 (UNI) At least nine people were killed and 20 others injured when a Dhaka-bound passenger bus collided head on with a microbus in Chokoria sub-distict of Bangladesh's southeastern Cox's Bazar today, police said.

The accident occurred on the Cox's Bazar-Chittagong highway when the bus reached Khutakhali area, said Superintendent of Police Bonoj Kumar Majumdar.

The microbus was travelling from Chokoria to Cox's Bazar town, he said, adding that all the passengers died were from the microbus.

The official said seven passengers died on the spot while two others died after they were taken to a nearby hospital. The injured were hospitalised, he said.
