Naik demands loan waiver for Goa fishermen
Panaji, Jun 19 (UNI) MP Shantaram Naik has demanded loan waiver for Goa fishermen under the Agricultural Debt Waiver and Debt Relief Scheme 2008, announced by the Central Government recently.
In a letter to state finance minister Dayanand Narvekar today, he has explained the salient features of the scheme that could be extended to fishermen.
He has made the representation on the basis of a memorandum that he had received from Betul Machimar Samaj, seeking the loan waiver.
