Lahmingliana nominated to RS uncontested

Aizawl, Jun 19(UNI) Ruling Mizo National Front party's candidate Lalhmingliana has been re-elected to the Rajya Sabha uncontested.

Since there were no other candidates from the Opposition legislature parties, the returning officer Ngurthanzuala declared Lalhmingliana elected this afternoon.

The last date for nomination was June 16 and scrutiny the next day.

As a result, no election will be held for the same which was earlier scheduled for June 26, election department sources said.
