VAT on diesel, entry tax on diesel reduced
Bhopal, Jun 18(UNI) In an attempt to provide relief to consumers the Madhya Pradesh government today reduced entry tax on liquified petroleum gas by Rs 10 per cylinder and Value Added Tax on diesel by 2 per cent giving a relief of 61 paise per litre.
An official spokesman said the concessions will be effective from today.
The Centre had recently raised the prices of petrol by Rs five per litre, Rs three on diesel and Rs 50 on LPG per cylinder. Cooking gas will now cost about Rs 375 per cylinder as compared to Rs 385 immediately after the recent hike.
Commercial Tax Minister Babulal Gaur said the state government is committed for providing relief to the consumers.
