Cooking gas cylinder cheaper by Rs 10 in Bihar
Patna, June 14 (UNI) Cooking gas cylinder will now be available to consumers of Bihar at a cheaper price by Rs 10 following decision of the state government to reduce the Value Added Tax(VAT) on it by three per cent.
Official sources said here today that the state government issued a notification last night reducing the VAT on cooking gas cylinder by three per cent and it would be now one per cent instead of four per cent earlier.
''Following the decision of the Bihar government to reduce the VAT on cooking gas cylinder, state exchequer will incur loss of Rs 25 crores per year,'' sources said adding despite the losses, the state government had taken such decision to provide cushion to the people of Bihar in the wake of steep hike of Rs 50 per cooking gas cylinder announced by the Centre few days back.
