Spokesman on summer vacation, not removed says CBI chief
New Delhi, Jun 14 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation today rubbished reports that its spokesman G Mohanty had been shifted from his post.
CBI Director Vijay Shankar told UNI that any such report of Mr Mohanty having been removed from his post was absolutely untrue.
''The news is absolutely untrue,'' said the CBI chief when asked whether agency's spokesman G Mohanty had been removed as reported in a section of the press.
''It is summer time and he has gone on vacation,'' he said adding that Mr Mohanty had his leave sanctioned long back.
Any such reporting by the media was irresponsible, Mr Shankar added.
The CBI chief's reaction comes following reports in a section of the press that the CBI Director had ''packed off agency spokesman G Mohanty from the plum post''.
