Govt to felicitate 41 freedom fighters on Goa Revolution Day
Panaji, Jun 14 (UNI) The state government will felicitate 41 freedom fighters, both living and posthumous, on Goa Revolution Day on June 18.
Governor S C Jamir and Chief Minister Digambar Kamat will honour them in presence of ministers and other dignitaries at a function to be held at Azad Maidan in the city on that day.
It was on June 18, 1946, that renowned freedom fighter Dr Ram Manohar Lohia gave a clarion call for liberating Goa from the Portuguese rulers.
The state will also pay rich tributes to the martyrs and freedom fighters by organising different functions on that day.
