Seven members of family dead in accident

Pune, Jun 6 (UNI) Seven members of a family were killed on the spot and nine others seriously injured when their jeep collided with a sand-loaded truck, near Palasdev village, in Indapur taluka on Solapur-Pune highway today.

Pune Rural Police said seven members of a family were returning from Mumbai after darshan of Haji Ali dargah. All the passengers hailed from Hyderabad and were en route to their native town, when the accident occurred. Among the dead were two women and four children.

The deceased have been identified as Mohhammed Hajimuzafar Khan (25), Asama Fatima (22), Mohammed Khan Majaani (4), Mohhammed Khan Misaba (1), Rashida (7), Subiya Khan (9) and Begum Noorjahan.

The injured have been admitted to the government hospital at Indapur and the truck driver arrested, they added.
