Ambika Soni cancels US trip as part of austerity measures

New Delhi, Jun 6 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and Tourism Minister Ambika Soni today announced the cancellation of her proposed trip to the United States in response to a directive from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking his Cabinet colleagues to be austere by reducing foreign travels.

She was to visit San Francisco and Los Angeles from June 21-28.

Ms Soni was scheduled to attend the World Kuchipudi Dance Festival and American Association of Physicians of India Origin conference.
