Haryana to promote maize cultivation

Chandigarh, Jun 5 (UNI) The Haryana Government has decided to introduce a scheme to promote maize cultivation in the state.

While stating this here today, Haryana Agriculture Minister Harmohinder Singh Chatha said under this new scheme, it had been planned to conduct 3,000 demonstration plots in order to increase the area, productivity and production of maize.

An assistance of Rs 1,000 per acre would be provided to the farmers to meet the cost of seeds, fertilizers and pesticides.
