Avoid partisan politics on fundamental issues: Lok Satta
Hyderabad, Jun 5 (UNI) Lok Satta Party President Jayaprakash Narayana today urged all political parties to eschew partisan politics on fundamental issues like global energy crisis, global warming and terrorism, and strive for working out long-term and viable solutions.
Commenting on the hike in price of petroleum products, he said all political parties should accept certain global realities like skyrocketing of crude oil prices over which they have no control, according to a release here.
He also urged the government to focus on long-term solutions like utilizing the abundant coal resources in the country, stepping up exploration for oil and gas, besides promoting non-conventional sources like solar and wind energy.
Opposing the bandh call given by some political parties to protest the hike in fuel prices tomorrow in the state, he said ''political parties are not entitled to abridge the freedom of citizens by foisting such agitations on them.'' UNI AP VA RL AS1620
