HC directs police to produce three illegally detained people

New Delhi, Jun 4 (UNI) Delhi High Court today directed the police to produce on June 9 three people who have been detained illegally by their landlord on suspicion that they helped his daughter elope.

One Raj Kumar filed a writ petition in the Delhi High Court seeking custody of his relatives Leela Devi and two others stating that he feared Satyawan Prajapati had locked them in his house at Nangloi.

A bench comprising Justices Siddharth Mridul and Manmohan directed the police to produce the three before the court on June 9.

The dispute arose between the landlord and Leela Devi when two girls, 19-year-old daughter of Prajapati and 17-year-old daughter of Leela Devi went missing on May 7.

The court while saying, why had no habeas corpus been filed against the two girls who had eloped, directed the police to make every effort to find them.
