Judge Mulla to hear case against Salem, Dossa; hearing from June 5

Mumbai, Jun 3 (UNI) Judge D U Mulla today assumed charge of the TADA court at the Arthur Road jail where separate trials against gangsters Abu Salem, Mustafa Dossa and others will be conducted in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case from June 5.

Judge Mulla, who is at present trying the TADA cases in Mumbai, including the sensational J J Shootout case, has been assigned to conduct the separate 1993 blast cases.

Earlier, TADA court judge P D Kode had conducted trials in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case and convicted 100 people, including actor Sanjay Dutt and others. However, he has been transferred and promoted as Principal Sessions Judge of Nashik court.

Salem and five others were arrested towards the fag end of the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case trials and, therefore, they will be tried separately.

Meanwhile, Judge Mulla today fixed June 5 as the date for the commencement of the trials against Salem and the others.
