Introduce Rehbar-i- Sayahat to adjust unemployed youth in J

Srinagar, June 3 (UNI) Urging for introduction of Rehbar-i-Sayahat in the Jammu and Kashmir for unemployed youth, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti said there was a lot of scope to develop the various areas of the state.

There are areas which could attract tourists from all over the world, she said adding these areas had remained untouched and unexploited so far.

She said the state was also rich in manpower as there were thousands of young men and women qualified in the trade, whose services could be utilised for the full development of tourism in the state and the extension of infrastructure and other facilities to newer and unexploited areas.

Jammu and Kashmir, known for its scenic beauty, the world over, has tremendous potential for development of a viable tourism industry, which could provide lacs of jobs to the unemployed youth of the state.

Time has come when the government should devise ways and means to explore the potential for development of this industry in the state, she said and urged for taking urgent steps to introduce ''Rehbar-i- Sayahat'' scheme on the pattern of Rehbar-i-Taleem to absorb the unemployed educated youth and provide management for the full development of this industry.

''Central and state governments should devise ways and means for the development of this industry by introducing ''Rehbar-i-Sayahat'' and provide finances and appropriate management to take the industry to new heights'' Mr Mehbooba said.
