India looks forward to working with new Nepal government
Kathmandu, Jun 3 (UNI) India today said it looked forward to working with the new government in Nepal and assured the Himalayan nation of all possible cooperation for its transition to peace, stability, democracy and development.
Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood today met Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda at the latter's residence at Naya Bazaar here to discuss the formation of the new government in Nepal and other issues of bilateral interest.
During the meeting, Mr Prachanda told Mr Sood that the political consultations were going on amongst the political parties on the government formation.
According to a source close to the Maoists, the Maoist Chairman said his party would lead the next government and expressed confidence that the Indian government would continue to extend its support.
In turn, the Indian envoy assured Mr Prachanda that India would assist the Maoist-led government. Maoist second-in-command Dr Baburam Bhattarai was also present at the meeting, the source told the Kantipur.
