Bomb hoax in Bardoli town

Surat, Jun 3 (UNI) An anonymous call, saying a bomb had been placed in a car of an official of the State Animal Husbandry Department at nearby Bardoli town today, turned out to be a hoax.

The personal assistant to Surat Collector Dilip Raval received the call this afternoon from an unknown person, who spoke in Gujarati.

The police swung into action and a bomb squad rushed to the spot. A thorough search of the car was carried out but yielded nothing.

Police said the call was made from a public phone at a shop.

The shop owner told police that he was too busy to pay any attention to the coin box.

Further investigations are on.
