Aksh Optifibre partners BSNL for IPTV services in north India
New Delhi, June 3 (UNI) Leading IPTV services provider Aksh Optifibre today partnered state-run BSNL to provide IPTV services to the latter's subscribers in northern parts of the country.
Aksh Optifibre will have to register 10,000 subscribers for its IPTV services within nine months across 20 cities spanning Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and UP (West), a company statement said.
The incremental cost for acquiring, creating content and subscribers is expected to be Rs 500 crore and funding for the project will be through fund raising from international market and recently conducted GDR/FCCB issues worth 40 million dollars, it added.
''It is our endeavour to enter into tier II and III cities along with rural areas, giving them full rights to interactive entertainment in true sense establishing IPTV as the most competitive platform,'' said Aksh Optifibre Ltd Managing Director Kailash Choudhari said in the statement.
The company is already in tie-up with MTNL for IPTV services.
