Kathmandu, May 31 (UNI) Nepal's CPN (Maoists) Chairman Prachanda has issued a stern warning to a prominent media house regarding alleged adverse reportings against his party.
Maoist Chairman Prachanda has warned Kantipur Publications of serious consequences if it continued to criticise his party.
''Now we will no longer tolerate criticism as we have already been elected by the people,'' the Maoist chief was quoted as saying by Kantipur, while addressing a mass meet organised by his party here yesterday.
''You (journalists from Kantipur Publications) did well to continuously criticise the Maoists before the [10 April CA] elections. Else, the polls would not have taken place at all,'' Mr Prachanda said.
''But we will no longer tolerate such things because we have become the largest party,'' he remarked.
The Maoists have won 220 seats in the April 10 Constituent Assembly elections which is about one-third of the total 601 seats.
