100 Naval Cadets pass out of 75th Integrated Course

Kochi, May 31 (UNI) One hundred Officer Cadets of the 75th Integrated Course passed out today with an impressing 'Passing Out Parade' onboard the INS Tir and INS Krishna here.

The parade was inspected by Rear Admiral Sunil Lanba, Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command.

One hundred cadets, comprising trainees from the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy, successfully completed their basic afloat training onboard the First Training Squadron, comprising ships INS Tir, INS Krishna, INS Tarangini and Coast Guard Ship Varuna.

Cadet Swapnil Srivastava received the coveted 'Chief of the Naval Staff Trophy' and 'Binoculars' for standing 'First in Overall Order of Merit.' Cadet Anubh was awarded the 'FOC-in-C East Rolling Trophy' for the most promising cadet and Cadet Padma Prasad was awarded the 'FOC-in-C South Rolling Trophy' for the best sportsman.

Asst Commandant Akshaya Kumar Mohapatra was awarded for standing first in Order of Merit from the Coast Guard.

The cadets will now join frontline warships of Western and Eastern Fleets and Coast Guard ships as Midshipmen for next six months.

At the memorable stripe-shipping ceremony on the completion of the parade, parents and close relatives had the proud privilege of adorning the rank insignias on their brave sons who are now pledged to devote their lives in the service of the nation.
