Tata Tea Q4 net up at Rs 178.86 crore

Mumbai, May 30 (UNI) Tata Tea Ltd has registered a net profit of Rs 178.86 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2008, against Rs 3.89 crore during the corresponding period, a year ago.

Total income for the quarter grew to Rs 296.04 crore as against Rs 259.03 crore in the same quarter last year, the company announced here today.

For the financial year ended March 2008, the company posted a net profit of Rs 312.86 crore. It grew by 2.05 per cent from from Rs 306.57 crore on a total income of Rs 1,263.29 crore.

The board of directors has recommended a dividend of Rs 15 per equity share of Rs 10 each fully paid and a one time special dividend of Rs 20 per equity share for the financial year 2007-08, Tata Tea added.
