Private doctors roped in for Civil Hospital services

Karnal, May 30 (UNI) Facing acute shortage of specialist doctors in Civil hospitals in the state, the Haryana Government has decided to rope in the services of private doctors on contractual basis to provide adequate service to the ever-increasing patients.

Haryana's Parliamentatry Secretary for Health and Medical Education, Dr Krishna Pandit said here the move was being mooted under public-private partnership.

Private physicians would be paid Rs 25,00 per month, while super specialists are proposed to be paid Rs 35,000 per month, she said.

The department also has proposals for taking services of those experienced private doctors as well as surgeons, who cannot render contractual service on monthly basis.

Such surgeons would be paid Rs 3000 per operation, while anesthetics would be paid Rs 1000 per case, Dr Pandit added.

In fact, the services of private doctors have already been taken in the Civil Hospital at Yamunanagar and Radaur, she said, adding that the move has bolstered the health services.

A list of the eminent doctors in different districts of the state had already come up for perusal and soon they would be approached for the contract, she added.
