Cong confident of defeating BJP in LS poll
Sultanpur, May 27 (UNI) Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Congress leader Ram Naresh Yadav today expressed confidence that his party would score a victory on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the coming Lok Sabha election.
Addressing newspersons after participating in a poignant ceremony here to commemorate the death anniversary of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, Mr Yadav said ''the Centre has kick-started several developmental schemes in states, including Uttar Pradesh, but their benefits are hardly reaching to the comman man as they are not being implemented properly.'' ''The State government allegations that Central government does not provide funds for developmental projects in the State, is therefore ''baseless'' as it is the former, which is failing to do smart utilisation of the funds provided by the Centre,'' the Congress leader noted.
Mr Yadav also condemned the Rajasthan government for police firing on Gujjars.
