Cellphones, CDs seized from Bhubaneswar Special Jail
Bhubaneswar, May 27 (UNI) Police today raided the Bhubaneswar Special Jail at Jharpada and seized six cellphones and some objectionable CDs, Inspector General (Prison) V Thiagarajan today said.
Mr Thiagarajan said necessary disciplinary action would be taken against the jail employees found guilty on the basis of reports.
The IG said a search was conducted in the jail after gangster Raja Acharaya, prime accused in Biranchi Das murder case, was reported making obscene and threatening calls to model Leslie Tripathy and her colleague Bidusmita.
He also said a police team investigating into allegation had confirmed that the calls emanated from the jail and the voice was identified as that of Raja Acharya.
The Jailor was suspended yesterday on charges of negligence of duty, Mr Thiagarajan said.
