Woman, 9-yr-old killed; 6 injured in van-truck collision

Rajkot, May 26 (UNI) A woman and nine-year-old boy were killed and six others sustained injuries after the van in which they were travelling, collided with a truck near Kuvadva, around 15 km from here on the Rajkot-Ahmedabad highway.

The occupants of the ill-fated vehicle were residents of Dervana village in Surendranagar district. They were on their way back home after Saurashtra tour when they met with the accident late last night, police said.

Injured were rushed to Rajkot Civil Hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Jayaba Zala (40) and her nephew Mahavirsinh Jadeja (9), the police added.
