Venus Garments gets Wal-Mart 'Supplier of the Year' award

Chandigarh, May 26 (UNI) Ludhiana based Venus Garments (India) Limited, exporter of knitwear, has been honoured by retail giant Wal-Mart with the 'Supplier of the Year 2007' award.

The award was presented to chairman of the company, Anil Jain, in Bangalore in the presence of a high level delegation from Wal-Mart Global Procurement (GP), the procurement arm of Wal-Mart.

The delegation comprised Mr Ram Venkatesh, Managing Director, Mr Edwin Keh, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and Mr Jas Pooni, General Manager, GP India.

The export clients of the company, which has manufacturing units in Ludhiana and Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), include Gap Inc, Wal-Mart, Tom Tailor, The Children's Place, Wal-Mart Mexico, Sam's Club and Suburbia.
