PMK supports Gujjars demand for ST status

Chennai, May 26 (UNI) Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder leader S Ramadoss, a champion of Backward classes, today supported the Gujjars, who were demanding ST status and condemned the Rajasthan government for trying to suppress their agitation.

In a statement here, the PMK leader condemned the Rajasthan government for using police force instead of trying to resolve the issue through talks.

Dr Ramadoss said the Gujjars were fighting for ST status for the past one year, but the Rajasthan government was shirking its responsibility by turning a deaf ear to their just demand.
