Mohan Kishen Khanna appointed Sec. Minorities Commission

New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) Mr Mohan Krishen Khanna, presently Principal Advisor, Planning Commission has been appointed as the Secretary of the National Commission for Minorities.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr Khanna, an IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre of 1974 batch. He would be in the rank and pay of Secretary and fill the vacancy created by Ms Deepa Jain Singh.

The orders appointing Mr Sumantra Chaudhuri, an IAS officer of West Bengal in 1974 batch, in the post has been cancelled.

Mr Ashok Thakur, IAS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre of 1977 batch presently in the cadre, has been appointed as the Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development in the vacancy of Mr K M Acharya.

The earlier orders appointing him as Member Secretary, National Capital Region Planning Board, Ministry of Urban Development, stand cancelled.

Mr Pradeep Kumar Chaudhery, an IAS officer of Haryana cadre of 1977, has been appointed as the Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Mr Chaudhery, who was presently in the cadre would fill the vacancy created by Mr O P Arya.
