AP CM opposes hike in petroleum prices

Hyderabad, May 23 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekahra Reddy's today learnt to have telephoned Union Minister for Petroleum Murli Deora to protest against the reported move to increase the prices of petroleum products.

An official release here said Dr Reddy urged Mr Deora to protect the interest of the common people by ensuring the stoppage of the move to hike prices of petroleum products, despite an unprecedented increase in crude oil prices internationally.

The Chief Minister said he would firmly oppose an increase in petroleum prices.
