Relatives of slain University staff resort road roko

Puducherry, May 21 (UNI) Traffic on the East-Coast road here was affected for three hours today as the relatives of a slain University employee resorted to a road blockade, keeping his body in the road, infront of the Kalapet police station.

Alleging that some senior officials of the Pondicherry University were involved in the murder of Jayaraman, they demanded a thorough probe to nab the real culprit and hand over the case to the CBI.

Sub-Collector Vijayakumar Vidhoori arrived the spot and held talks with the agitators and assured them to accept their demands.

Later, they called off their agitation and cremated the body.

Earlier, immediately after post-mortem, they staged a road roko infront of the Government General Hospital.
