Angry crowd pelts stones after death in road accident

Indore, May 21 (UNI) Angry crowd pelted stones and damaged several vehicles after one person was today killed when a crane rammed into his motorcycle along an overbridge at the Indore-Ujjain road in this district, police said After Dinesh died on the spot during the incident this morning, angry people staged a road blockade and pelted stones. People demanded stopping movement of heavy vehicles along the road that resulted in frequent accidents.

Senior police and administrative officials convinced people to lift the road blockade. The crane driver was arrested.

Indore district Youth Congress spokesperson Rajesh Chokse expressed concern over increase in road accidents along the route.

He said steps should be taken to reduce heavy traffic along the route due to road construction work.
