Stir called off after release of abducted official

Imphal, May 20 (UNI) Bus services resumed after agitators called off their strike, following the release of an abducted transport official by suspected militants today.

Passenger services on Tiddim road was suspended for the past three days.

The official identified as Station Master Thoiba was released after the police and local NGOs made a joint effort.

Some people suspected to be militants abducted Thoiba from Churachandpur bus parking on May 16 last.
