Cong can't achieve development like BJP: Modi
Gulbarga, Karnataka, May 18 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today challenged Congress leaders to achieve the level of development in the states ruled by their party similar to Gujarat where there is a BJP government.
Addressing an election meeting here, Mr Modi held Congress leaders responsible for growing terrorist activities in the country.
''It's (Congress) leaders have adopted a soft approach in curbing terrorism leading to recent terror strikes,'' he blamed.
Expressing concern over Karnataka becoming a ''breeding point'' for terrorists, Mr Modi alleged terror incidents around the country had their connections in Karnataka.
''Militants arrested in London, Hyderabad or the 11 terrorists who were arrested in Bhopal, all unfortunately belong to Karnataka,'' he claimed.
The BJP would put down terrorism and anti-social elements with an iron hand if it came to power in the ongoing Assembly elections, he said.
Listing out the achievement of the Gujarat Government, he said despite being rain-deficient state, it had achieved spectacular growth in agriculture to achieve an output of Rs 34,000 crore.
''Gujarat is exporting cotton to Italy, France and Indonesia and the farmers are converting rupees into dollars,'' he claimed.
