Mountaineering expedition to mark NDA's diamond jubilee

Pune, May 17 (UNI) In order to mark the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the National Defence Academy (NDA), a mountaineering expedition to scale Mount Deo Tibba (a peak of over 600 metres in Manali region) was flagged off today.

The expedition team comprises 22 cadets and three officers, one each from Army, Navy and the Air Force. The expedition is led by Cdr Jeetendran Nair.

The expedition aims to give an exposure to the cadets and officers to the rigours and challenges faced by the personnel of the Indian armed forces while performing their duties of defending the borders of the country, a release said here.
