Haraprasad Das to be honoured with Sarala Award 2008
Bhubaneswar, May 17 (UNI) Noted administrator and eminent Oriya writer Haraprasad Das will receive the prestigious Sarala Award for his poetry ''Harmonium Re Todi''.
Mr Das will receive a cash award of Rs 1.5 lakh, along with a citation at a special function organised by Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT) here on June 14.
The prize money had been increased by Rs 50,000 this year.
Four more notable personalities of the state will be honoured for their valuable contribution in their respective fields. They included lyricist Binod Pashayat, music composer Prafulla Kar, Social worker Abhaya Charan Chalan and sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik.
All four of them would receive a cash award of Rs 21,000 each, along with citations.
The annual Sarala Award was instituted in the year 1978.
