UPA government lacks vision in containing inflation: Naidu
Gulbarga, May 14 (UNI) Coming down heavy on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Planning Commisison Chairman Ahluwalia for failing to contain the rising inflation rate, BJP national general secretary Venkaiah Niauh flayed them that Government at the center lacks vision and foresightedness.
Addressing a press conference here topday Mr Naidu charged that the trio had no any ideas or incompetant to handling the rising inflation and soaring prices of essential commodities.
"The actual inflation rate is more than 10 per cent, but they were presenting manipulated statistics on inflation" he alleged and added that India is witnessing a unprecedented price rise of essential commodities.
Brushing aside the allegation that price rise was the result of introduction of future t rading in foodgrains during the NDA regime at the center, Mr Naidu said that the future trading on essential commotieis was introduced when the foodgrains and other agricultural produce was surplus in the country. It is introduced in order to help the farmers to earn remunerative price for their produce he explained. "Why do they not ban the future trading now" he questioned.
He said that the people of Karnataka has tasted the Cong and JD(S) coalition and JD(S) and BJP coalition. They have fed up with the failed coalition government he said and hoped that this time they would give a clear mandate in farour of BJP. He rediculed that the Congress is not in a position to even name their Chief Ministerial candidate and questioned how can they rule the state.
Referring Poojary's statement on arrack he said that Yeddyurappa had banned arrack with a good intention and the women in the state are now ready to teach a lesson or two to the congress.
