Person arrested for possessing 10 different passports
Agartala, May 14 (UNI) A person was arrested at the Agartala airport and passports of ten different people and Rs 2.5 lakh cash were seized from his possession.
Police said here today that Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel detained one Abdul Momim, a resident of Sonamura along the Indo-Bangla border, during security check at the airport on May 12 and handed him over to the police.
He was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate in West Tripura yesterday and released from custody while the court asked police to investigate the case.
Police said Momim claimed that he was proceeding to Kolkata for getting Malaysian visas for ten different people through the Kolkata-based Traffic Manpower Consultant Pvt Ltd and the passport holders had also confessed before the court that they had willingly given their passports along with Rs 25,000 each for the purpose.
