Boy lynched for letting buffalo graze in neighbour's field
Muzaffarpur, May 13 (UNI) A 14-year-old boy from Dwarikanagar village in the district has been lynched by goons for the ''crime of letting his buffalo graze his neighbour's field''.
Police Superintendent Sudhanshu Kumar today told UNI that on Saturday evening Raj Kumar Shah was lynched by his neighbour Lakhan Mishra's goons as he allegedly let his buffalo graze the standing crops on Mishra's field at Dwarikanagar village under Mushahari police station area in the district.
''The goons of Mr Mishra took the boy to a nearby room and beat him up. His body was thrown into a nearby pond, from where it was recovered by the police on Sunday,'' he added.
The victim's father Vikram Sah lodged an FIR at Mushahari police station accusing that his son Raj Kumar and the buffalo were made captive by the Mishra's goons as Raj had allegedly let his buffalo graze the standing crops on Mishra's field.
When he reached Mishra's house and enquired about his son, the refused comply. They, however, let the buffalo go which they had taken captive as well.
Raj Kumar's body was recovered from a nearby pond next morning.
He said the matter was being investigated, adding that property attachment order had already been procured and Lakhan Mishra's property would be attached, if he failed to surrender before the court.
Earlier, police raided Mishra's house, but he and his family members were absconding.
